Monica Metcalf began working in the OhioMeansJobs Ottawa County office in 2020, and comes to OhioMeansJobs with years of customer service and management experience after managing a beauty salon for almost 12 years. She is passionate about customer service, and in her office you will always feel welcome. At home, she is passionate about family time, traveling, and leading her monthly book club.

Monica works diligently to make sure that area businesses and job seekers are aware of the services her staff offers. She believes that streamlining and simplifying services allows for the least amount of stress in what can be incredibly stressful times. Currently, she travels to businesses all around Ottawa County to discuss her services and gather information on their workforce needs. It is her hope to begin traveling to meet job seekers across the county to offer hands-on resume and job application services. She believes that her services should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where they are located.

As part of her role, Monica posts employer jobs on the OhioMeansJobs state site, create fliers to hang on their lobby job boards, market on their social media, and send out weekly mass emails to local libraries, high schools, partner agencies, unemployment claimants and individuals that have requested the Weekly Job List. Monica helps job seekers write resumes, search for jobs, apply for jobs using online applications, and navigating the unemployment website and process.
